SCENERY

Start with scenery that makes your heart leap. Sedona nestles among a geological wonderland. Multi-hued stone formations jut upwards from the high desert floor creating a vivid, mesmerizing setting that changes hourly with the light. Every day is a different day because of the way the light brings the red rocks to life. When USA Weekend compiled their Most Beautiful Places in America list, Sedona claimed the top spot.

For Active Lifestyles

Surrounded by 1.8 million acres of national forest land, you have instant access to recreational activities. Whether you like hiking or biking, trails weave among the bristling forest of pinnacles, spires, buttes and domes. Yet, you’re never far from your home, perhaps just 5 minutes away.

SPIRITUAL

Regarded by Native Americans as sacred, Sedona continues to be recognized as a place of healing and spiritual renewal. Many come to experience the vortex energy centers of Sedona and to meditate or contemplate in the beautiful natural settings. Others want to receive soothing treatments from the dozens of spa facilities.

Ready for a Life Change … The Call of Sedona

If you are tired of the city life with its daily stress let me recommend Sedona. I moved from Miami, Florida with my family about 10 years ago and it’s the best thing I have ever done. At the time I was not sure what I was going to do for a living, but I trusted something would come up … and it did.

When I arrived the first thing that impressed me was that I had so much more time because everything could be done easily here. No lost time commuting or in traffic and no lines.  Going to a doctor’s appointment and not having to wait much for the doctor to receive you was a big change for me. There is a culture of service here that you do not see in large cities anymore. Mostly everything works as it should work here, unlike in big cities where we have become used to expecting things not working as they should.

The whole state of Arizona has impressed me as well for its excellent roads conditions (by the Arizona Department of Transportation – ADOT), the abundant supply of water in a state that is characterized by low precipitation (see the Water page) and the variety of activities that we have access to. If you want sophisticated city life go to Scottsdale for the weekend, just 1 hour and 45 minutes away. If you want to go skiing go to the Arizona Snowbowl, just 1 hour away. If you want to go boating, go to Lake Powel, one of the most beautiful places on Earth.
Last, but not least, living in Sedona gives you the benefit of a small town ambience with just about 17,000 permanent residents, but with a cosmopolitan international flavor. Many foreigners have been captivated by Sedona’s beauty and decided to make Sedona their home. The flow of tourism (about 4 million a year) has created a vibrant industry for visitors that we locals can enjoy with many top-level restaurants and all kinds of different food options.
